MP3: Twin Shadow – When The Movie’s Over

I’m going to get to my annual Pitchfork Festival coverage on the double, but first I want to share a song that I’ve been spinning non-stop the last couple weeks, “When The Movie’s Over” by NYC-based new wave band, Twin Shadow. Whether it’s the soaring synth-pop arrangement, George Lewis Jr.’s dramatic vocals or maybe I just naturally like songs that use film as a metaphor (see also: David Bowie’s “Life on Mars?”, The Hold Steady’s “Slapped Actress”), this blissful track has become one of my go-to tracks this summer.
