Best Music Videos of 2009
December 7, 2009
Here listed before you are the absolute 25 finest music videos of 2009. I’ve watched dozens upon dozens of videos this year, and trust me, these are the best. All the videos are embedded below for easy viewability. Clicking on the song title will link you to the highest quality video. I’m estimating it would take a little over an hour and a half to watch all these videos, which should be no problem for you guys, right?
The videos listed here are the ones that I found to be the most visually interesting, uniquely executed, superbly edited, and just in general, wonderfully awesome videos of the year (although having a good song attached to it didn’t hurt it’s chances either). If you have any favorites videos from the year that you think I missed, make sure to let me know in the comments. Enjoy!

your 12 is a 20.
Fever Ray definitely had the best videos this year. also enjoyed Fleet Foxes video for “Mykonos”

Definitely enjoyed the Justice/Lenny Kravitz remix and Monogrenade but “We Own the Sky” was an annoyingly disappointing video for one of my favorite songs of the last few years off an incredible album. Hipsters hanging out in a valley get scared by giant boxes in the sky that in fact just want to shower them with confetti! Hooray! Or Ahhh! More like boooooo! (Booing the video, not your list. You always manage to have good lists!)

Yea, the storyline of that video doesn’t make too much sense but I thought visually it was pretty fantastic. Also, I’m a sucker for anything related to kite-flying.

Ramona Falls’ I Say Fever is definitely my top for the year.
Am bummed that The Avett Bros. “Slight Figure Of Speech” didn’t make it up here. That video is straight up fun to watch.

Great list, but I was kind of hoping for The Automatic’s “Interstate,” which you covered a few weeks back…the video is incredibly eye-catching

Grizzly Bear’s Two Weeks is on here, but not Ready, Able? Impossible. Hands down beats all of these videos
December 8th, 2009 at 10:54 pm
just kidding, didn’t see it, it should be way higher up!
December 9th, 2009 at 12:21 pm
I agree that “Ready, Able” is better than the official Patrick Daughters video for “Two Weeks” but I think the unofficial version that I have on the list beats them both!

I don’t think any of these beat Temper Trap’s Science of Fear –

For all its 80s nostalgia, please check out the Sound of Arrows latest: http://www.vimeo.com/6034355
It’s particularly fascinating when you consider that the two guys in the group made it themselves.
